The high level of indoor air pollution can be attributed to the low level of air exchange in today’s tight building envelopes. The window frame module FRM 60 enables user-independent air exchange directly above the window frame. The geometry of the frame module, which is bevelled on four sides, supports both the incidence of light and ventilation. The stacking of two frames allows the minimal displacement of the inner frame to create a circumferential ventilation duct, which ensures good ventilation behaviour. The window frame module is scalable and can be extended with further modules to form a “breathing” facade.
